Northern Spain is an area that is rich of not only tourist attraction sites, but also a range of activities that tourists can engage in. One or two days are not enough to see the best that Northern Spain has to offer. This sightseeing tour will last for five days to ensure that you explore Zaragoza, San Sebastian, Bilbao, Castro Urdiales, Santiander, Santillana, Covadonga, Lugo, Oviedo, Astorga as well as Cudillero and Gijon. What you can expect
Throughout this five day tour, you will have overnight and breakfast at your reserved hotel with transport in an air-conditioned deluxe motor–coach. Your first day will involve a visit of the Basilica of Our Lady of The Pilar, the patroness of Hispanity and later to San Sebastian where the Internation Film Festival is normally held. You will also enjoy a scenic drive of the city where the Conchas Beach is located before going to your hotel for an overnight.
You second day will involve a lot of sightseeing with commentary in English and Spanish from your tour escort since after breakfast you will head to Mount Igueldo for some amazing views of the city before heading to the esplanade in Bilbao where the Guggenheim Museum is located. As you proceed to Castro Urdiales, you will be amazed by what this old fishing village has to offer. Later in the day you will visit the scenic Santander where the Sardinero Beach is located before an overnight at your hotel.
On your third day after breakfast, you will visit the architectural treasures of Santillanna where the Collegiate of Santa Juilian is located and then the patroness of Asturias our Lady of Covadonga at the Grotto as well as Sanctuary in Covadonga. You will then head to Oviedo to explore it at leisure where you will explore the World Heritage Cathedral and the Saint Maria de Naranco Church.
Enjoy a breathtaking city tour of Gijon and then later you get to explore the fishing village of Cudillero. Proceed to Lugo where you see the World Heritage Roman ramparts. On the fifth day which marks the end of the tour, you will admire Gaudi’s Episcopal Palace that is located at the Historical Center of Astorga. You will then proceed back to Madrid passing via the Medina del Campo.
Day 1: Madrid – Zaragoza – San Sebastian
This will be your first day of the five day tour of Northern Spain. Early in the morning, you will board your air-conditioned motor-coach to Zaragoza where you will explore the old streets of the city and also visit the Basilica of Our Lady of The Pilar who is the patroness of Hispanity. Early in the afternoon, you will head to the home of Internation Film Festival. San Sebastian which is a French style bourgeois city is not only popular for this, but also for other attractions thus being one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations. The landscape of the city is dominated by breathtaking Conchas Beach and a bay which you will discover as you explore the city. You will then continue to your hotel for an overnight.

Day 2: San Sebastian – Bilbao – Castro Urdiales – Santander
On your second day after breakfast you will board the tour bus beautiful point to enjoy the memorable views of the city. This will be at Mount Igueldo. You will enjoy the sightseeing along the way as you head to Bilabo where you get to explore the Guggenheim Museum at leisure. From this modern building, as you get commentary from the tour escort, you will continue to Castro Urdiales which is an old fishing village that you will stroll at your own pace. From the fishing village you will head to an area between the mountains and the sea where the famous Sardinero Beach is located. This port city is known as Santander. Day 3: Santander – Santillana – Covadonga – Oviedo
After your breakfast, you will board the comfortable motor-coach to one of Spain’s most significant historical artistic towns which is Santillana that is home to a variety of architectural treasures. This is where you will admire the Collegiate of Santa Juiliana, a Jewel of the Romanesque Arquitecture in Cantabria. From Santillana, you will proceed to Covadonga, to the Grotto to see the Our Lady of Covadonga, the patroness of Asturias and the Sanctuary as well. In the afternoon you will admire the impressive Saint Maria de Naranco Church that depicts the pre-Roman asturian architecture. With a lot of pedestrian streets and a variety of tourist attraction sites, you will explore Oviedo at leisure while also exploring the Gothic Asturian style Cathedral which is a World Heritage Site. You will spend the night at your reserved hotel.

Day 4: Oviedo – Gijon – Cudillero – Lugo
On your fourth day after breakfast, you will enjoy a rewarding city tour of Gijon. From Gijon, you will continue to one of the most beautiful fishing villages in the country which is Cudillero. Admire the World Heritage Roman ramparts in Lugo. This Roman rampart that stands as one of the most impressive has a perimeter of 2266 m in circumference. You will have an overnight at your reserved hotel.
Overnight: First class - Mendez Nuñez
Day 5: Lugo – Astorga – Madrid
On your last day of the tour, you will check-out after having your breakfast. Boarding your air conditioned deluxe motor-coach; you will head to the historical centre of Astorga to explore it. The highlight of the historical centre is Antoni Gaudi’s Episcopal Palace. As you proceed to Madrid, you will pass through the Medina del Campo. Your tour will end once you are in Madrid.
